Who are we

Elf sitters is a friendly and local company who provide mobile crèches and wedding childcare for several hotels and wedding venues in the area. ELF sitters in owned and run by Emma Fursman who oversees all crèche arrangements and personally vets all our mobile crèche staff. All Emma’s ELFS are CRB checked and have relevant childcare experience and qualifications; We hold written references for all our ELFs and Emma always interviews and checks Identification before registering a new ELF with the company.

We provide a safe and fun environment for children in a separate room to the main function. It enables your guests to bring their children and be confident in the knowledge that they are on site and being professionally cared for. We want the children to enjoy their day too so we provide toys, equipment and party games suitable for all relevant ages. We tailor make our crèches to suit the bride and grooms requirements and can provide bouncy castles and other outdoors entertainment if required (weather depending)! ELF sitters considers the safety of the children attending one of our crèches a priority and we always undertake a risk assessment on the venue where the crèche will be held and we have on site registers to ensure supervision. We are also fully insured for our mobile crèches. We staff our crèches according to Ofsted regulations to provide optimum care and to provide a more personal care with an allocated ELF per small group of children.

A typical crèche of 4 hours for 10 children, the cost would be £375.00 and would comprise:

  • A minimum of half an hour both side for set up and pack away time
  • 3 ELF sitters (all our sitters have an enhanced CRB, experienced child carers, carefully vetted prior to registration with us)
  • First aid provision
  • Supervision of meal time if required
  • Indoor games, selection of toys to suit all age groups
  • Party Games
  • Green Arts and crafts (non messy) (see our green policy for details)
  • Outdoor games if required
  • Helium balloons
  • Party bags for the children to take home
  • Risk assessment of venue and safety equipment of which you will be provided with a copy.
  • Transportation of staff and equipment to and from the venue
  • Quiet area with cushions, fleeces, DVDs, story books – travel cots if required

Additional extras not included, please ask if required

  • Evening babysitting £7 per hour with a minimum 3 hour charge and a £10 booking fee per sitter (usually payable by individual families)
  • Individual nannies for families (usually payable by individual families)
  • Piñatas £20
  • Bouncy castles (prices depend on size etc)
  • Lunch boxes and drinks
  • Party Food
  • Decorations for the room, scene setters, banners, hanging decorations (prices depend on size of location)

Green Policy

We live in a world with finite resources and it is vital that we act in a sustainable way to preserve the planet for generations to come. ELF sitters works with a number of green venues and we strive to provide a greener crèche for our clients. Our non messy arts and craft activities are supplied by a local charity using recycled materials. The charity supports local children and the local community and the funds that are received from companies such as ELF sitters is put back into providing activities and outreach programs for under privileged children in the area.

ELF sitters also endeavours to lessen its impact on the environment by reducing vehicle emissions. Our staff where ever possible car share to events and we always use ELFs who are local to the venue.
